Dyeworks — Depth of Shade, Ratios & Repeatability — a premium, 100% offline digital tool by Aceplore. Runs entirely in your browser: no accounts, no subscriptions, your data never leaves your device.

A private, offline dye book — depth of shade on the dry fibre, liquor ratio on the fibre, salt on the water, each base named where it is used. 34 tools in one, and it tells you when a sample needs a stock solution because nobody can weigh 0.2 g.

34 built-in tools in one app. A dye register by class with your supplier and price; a fibre register recording which classes suit it, and a compatibility view flagging a recipe whose dye class does not suit its fibre — the difference between a colour and a stain; a DEPTH-OF-SHADE view computing dye powder as a percentage of the DRY FIBRE with the base named every time, and a comparison across several depths; a liquor-ratio view giving the water the ratio implies against the FIBRE, and showing explicitly that changing the ratio changes the BATH and not the SHADE — the dye weight is unchanged from 20:1 to 30:1 while the salt rises with the water, which is the most useful thing this app can teach; auxiliaries each with their own base named, salt as a rate on the WATER and mordant as a rate on the FIBRE; stock solutions at a concentration with the millilitres that deliver a dye weight, and a small-sample view flagging when the direct weight falls below the weighing precision YOU set, because a 10 g sample at 2% needs 0.2 g that most scales cannot weigh; mixes blended from several dyes with a check that the shares total 100 and the difference reported when they do not; scaling with a re-derived check, batches recorded against their recipe, a repeatability view comparing difference by difference, sample cards, exhaustion from the figures you recorded, and cost per batch and per kilogram of fibre; plus CSV exports, a JSON backup and a Method page.

Depth of shade. 450 g at 2% is 9 g of dye.

Ratio. Not the shade — the dye weight holds while the salt rises.

Dyeworks is a planning, costing and record-keeping tool for craft and workshop work. Every figure it reports is computed by a stated formula from the measurements, prices and rates YOU enter, and every figure carries its UNIT. Grams and millilitres are never treated as interchangeable: wherever a mass becomes a volume or the reverse, the DENSITY used is printed beside the result and is yours to change. Every percentage names the quantity it is a percentage of at the point of use, because a rate on the wax is not a rate on the finished candle, a superfat is a reduction of the lye rather than an addition of oil, and a depth of shade is against the dry fibre rather than the bath. Saponification values, densities, shrinkage rates, cone references, thread factors, setts, feed rates, gauges and waste allowances are REFERENCE FIGURES that vary by supplier, batch and machine: each one is editable data, is shown beside the result it produced, and is a starting point to verify against your own supplier rather than a fact. Where a craft involves a caustic, a solvent, a kiln, a laser, a dye powder or a heat source, the hazard is stated where the calculation appears — this is a calculator and a record, not a safety authority, and it is no substitute for the manufacturer's and supplier's own safety data. It runs entirely in your browser with no network access of any kind and reports only what you recorded. It does not promise an outcome: not a successful firing, not a cured casting, not a safe or skin-safe batch, not a food-safe glaze, not a saleable piece.

Personal covers individual, non-commercial use. Commercial covers client and commercial work. Extended adds resale and SaaS rights. Pick your tier above.
