A private, offline register for the licences you sell — who holds which key, how many seats and devices each one allows, what is actually activated against it and how much headroom is left — 32 tools in one, and a request over the ceiling reports zero remaining and the overage separately, because a negative seat count reads as room to spare.

32 built-in tools in one app. A product catalogue with the seat and device allowance each edition carries, and a licence register holding the key, the customer, the order, the edition, the term and the state, searchable and sortable with a detail page per licence; issuing one at a time or in bulk from a count you name, with the generated keys listed for export and never silently reused; a key-format designer where the alphabet, the group length, the number of groups and the presence of a check character are all yours to set, with a live sample and a verifier that tells you why a key failed rather than only that it did; an entropy page that computes log2(alphabet) bits per character and multiplies by the RANDOM characters only — a 20-character key over a 32-character alphabet with one check character carries 95 bits, not 100 — and prints the figure counting the checksum beside it so you can see exactly how much overstating it would add; activations recorded per machine, with the ceiling computed as seats × devices per seat, a request that exceeds it reporting remaining as 0 and the overage as its own figure, duplicate machine identifiers on one licence flagged rather than merged, and releases that hand the whole device allowance back when a seat goes; headroom across the whole book, an at-ceiling list, a dormant list built from a last-seen window you set and a reclaim view; transfers between customers, suspend and restore, revoke and a blocklist, expiry dates and a perpetual state that stores NO end date at all rather than a far-future one; plus an audit trail of every state change with its date and reason, reports, CSV export and a JSON backup.

Activation ceiling. 3 seats at 5 devices each is 15 activations. 11 used leaves 4 and 73.333333% utilisation. Zero seats gives a ceiling of zero — a real answer, not an error — and zero devices per seat does the same.

Entropy. log2(32) is 5 bits per character, so 20 characters over a 32-character alphabet is 100 bits — but a check character is DERIVED, so 19 random plus 1 check is 95. Keyring prints both and names the 5 bits the checksum does not carry, because overstating key strength is a security claim.

Perpetual. A perpetual licence stores no end date. Keyring will not write one far in the future to keep a column tidy, because a stored date is a deadline whatever you meant by it, and it will surface eventually.

Every figure it reports is computed by a stated formula from the prices, counts, dates and rates YOU enter, and every rate names the denominator it was taken over, because the same word — churn, recovery, uplift — means different things over different bases. It enforces no licence and grants no access: it records what you have decided and shows you what those decisions add up to, so your billing system, your payment provider and your own records remain the authority on what any customer is actually owed or owes. A model of a price rise, a retry schedule or a bundle is a projection from assumptions you set and is not a forecast.
